St Thomas's Hospital

The SAS laboratory was set up in 1974 offering both steroid and protein hormone analyses to investigate disorders of glucocorticoid synthesis and reproductive function. The service has been expanded to include hormones associated with growth disorders which reflects the strong research interests of our Department of Endocrinology with which the SAS laboratory works closely. With the move of Professor Forsling from the Middlesex Hospital to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, her SAS service for AVP measurement also transferred and is administered by the main SAS laboratory. Active research continues in all of the above fields.
