Glasgow Royal Infirmary

The Scottish Trace Element and Micronutrient Diagnostic and Research Laboratory (STEMDRL) is in part centrally funded by the National Services Division of NHS Scotland to provide a specialist analytical and advisory service for trace elements and vitamins. The Trace Element Section uses ICP-MS technology and offers a comprehensive repertoire of toxic and essential trace elements. Analytical performance is monitored by participation in accredited External Quality Assessment schemes in the UK, USA and Canada.

The laboratory has associate status with the SAS.
