The Endocrine Laboratory is part of the Department of Laboratory Medicine at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, and has academic links with the Respiratory and the Nutrition Biomedical Research Units. There is also a strong clinical link with Paediatric Endocrinology with a monthly review of cases.

The designated SAS Services are bloodspot 17-OHP and salivary cortisol. In addition the Laboratory provides a comprehensive range of endocrine tests including bloodspot cortisol for home-monitoring and renin and aldosterone for the investigation of primary hyperaldosteronism. There is an advisory service for local, Regional and Supra-Regional users of the service.
